Pity some users don't understand boat ramp protocol, this is not a parking building it's a launching and retrieving facility , Do not park on it while waiting for your turn to retrieve nor while you wait for your car driver to park your car, get off the pontoon to make it safer and quicker for the launching and retrieving vehicles.

Great place with lot of energy and different birds, warm water, extremely huge tide interesting for waching, the strong stream there and back is unbelievable.

Great ramp with a good size pontoon. Few words of caution, the first set of chanel marker bouys is quite a way from the ramp and once past the outer bouys its anybodies guess what the best way will be. (Perhaps another pair of bouys at either end would be good idea here) It's definitely best to plan your trip to avoid low tide by at least an hour either side.

Great ramp, Most holiday weekends still has parking available. Ramp suits bigger and smaller vessels. The tide does effect entry and exit through channel. Ramp fees are reasonable.

Double boat ramp with floating jetty to help load and unload your equipment. The entrance to Cook's Bay is best avoided around low tide unless you want to plough sand

The Purangi reserve is a great place to spend the day .The Purangi being a river that runs into the ocean. There are public toilets, kids playground, great swimming in the river or just dig and make sandcastles in the nice white sand or laurnch your boat from the boat ramp. The Purangi is located at the southern end of Cooks Beach. And is where Captain Cook came ashore upon his arrivival here
