Lovely down to earth couple who are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the Kauri and the North. Great Kauri Museum/shop. Nice spot to stop over as well.

. (02/2019) This Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located in over Murdoch Street near the boundary of main town. Easily approachable. Helpful owners. In addition to getting information around town, one portion is dedicated for shopping wood artefacts as it is run by a family which is into Kauri wood business. Well maintained and managed. Nice ambiance. Seating isn't available for the visitors. Good for quick visits. There is no dedicated parking area available although ample street parking can be found around the entrance. Wheelchair parking is not available. Entrance is not wheelchair accessible. PayWave facility is available at this location.

Good service from this little place which included viewing kauri wood sculptures, and other articles such as bowls etc

Beautiful kauri wood on display and the history lovingly explained in this small gallery and studio. These folks know and love their wood. They have used so much skill to turn and present the kauri to its best. Really uplifting. Its free to look and you can buy if you wish. No pressure. There is also an information centre with lots of good tourist information around Northland. This gallery is directly on the main road as you turn north on the way out of Dargaville. Refreshing place to visit.

Be careful when booking through the Dargaville Information Centre. Most expensive place to stay for a very average place. Kick back must be good.
