This place is all about the staff. The bar man was so sociable, knowledgeable that it was a real joy visiting. No snobbiness just good cocktails made with care. Good cocktail menu as well, ordered some off menu and happy made. Place is tidy and inviting, but go here for the staff and cocktails, lovely spending time here, well done!

I waited outside to get in for an hour and when I finally got let in the lady with the glasses refused to serve me for no reason. Completely sober, wasn’t serve at all. Woman on glasses doesn’t deserve a job as I was clearly sober and safe to be served. Wouldn’t recommend, don’t come here if there’s any type of line.

I used to really enjoy coming to carousel but the last two times I have been there the service has been shocking. It seemed like the manager was allergic to smiling and her customer service was horrible. You would think during the current scenario of the world, staff would be happy that customers are giving back to local businesses. Our group spent over 1000 collectively that night, probably a rare occasion in Dunedin’s current situation and still our group was treated like outsiders and were made to feel like we were not welcome. I would normally give my last two experiences only one star but the outside area totally bumps it up to a two. As I said, I have had plenty of great times in this bar but currently it just isn’t cutting the mustard.
