I love this place - the owner is always friendly and their food is SO cheap and yummy! Try their apple and lemon muffins, you won't be disappointed! Highly recommended for vegans, vegetarians and everyone else who loves cheap, yummy food!

My favourite restaurant in Dunedin! I go here often for the delicious, healthy food, nice atmosphere and great prices! Highly recommended.

Rude staff! My partner refused to come here because of 'incidences' in the past, but I decided to give the place a try because of their good selection of vegetarian food. Food arrived fast with a waiter who scowled at me when I thanked him. It tasted okay (read: not great) and the portion was disappointingly small. I was contemplating getting something else to satisfy the hunger pangs when a second waiter came and went to take my glass and bottle of water away. I told him I hadn't finished with it and he muttered something to the effect of "too bad, other customers" and took it. I had only been there for less than 15 minutes at this point, and left grumpy and still hungry.

Subpar: I would not recommend this to others Used to be quite good but have noticed the staff aren't so positive anymore. The lady on the till was plain rude and often has a scowl on her face. Saying "goodbye" on our way out was met with a blank stare and a bad vibe. Did not feel welcome there at all. Also, tables are often short as reserved" signs are used, even though no diners come and take up their reservation- seems to be a common trend A shell of its former glory

Very rude owner. Does not know how to treat customers. Claims to be cheap but not. Not hygienic and looks like a shack. The service is very disappointing. The waiters were all looking very sad and shabby. I ordered some food and after paying the owner asked us to go and take a seat, when I sat down I realized that I needed something to drink so I went up to the counter to order coffee and the owner very rudely told me to go and sit in the seat and when I questioned her about her behavior she verbally abused me and took my money and asked me to leave. I was not in a mood of making a scene there since there were some friends with me. Totally unacceptable behavior. So I did a research online about the place and found out that she is rude to everyone. There are so many other Indian restaurants around and everyone treats customers with respect. She is extremely nice to the "Caucasian" customers. I guess she needs only caucasian customers. Bottom-line spoiled an evening by going there, I would never ever go again to this place again and I don't recommend this restaurant. Moreover, they claim to be vegan i would like someone to really check out their inventory how authentic they are. Dunedin is a beautiful small friendly town and I am wondering how this shack is surviving with the bad attitude.
