Real nice place and very knowledgeable on all things speakers and amps. Takes the time to show you the difference between various things and not pushy trying to upsell you things you don't need or want. In fact after talking through what I wanted and what the set up would be, I asked about next model up. Let me know about it but said it would be too much for what I need and would be wasting money would be better sticking with 1 of 2 options. Would recommend visiting and discussing your needs to find the best solution for you.
Relics is a fantastic store, with staff who know their stuff and genuinely enjoy helping out their customers. If you love music, you must go there when in Dunedin. Thanks for being there guys. A joy to visit.
Cane was knowledgable and a great help at Relics HiFi, relative to the Good HiFi-Atrocious Service store at 848 Princes St. Review on that place is forthcoming...
One word - fantastic. Their Hi-Fi store is also great. A must check out if you're into music and audio gear.
I used to love this store and chose to shop here to support a local business even though I can get the same items for cheaper elsewhere. I had a terrible experience when I received a different item to the one I purchased online. When coming in to the store to resolve the issue I was basically insulted for the product I chose (coloured vinyl which this guy seems to have a real thing about) I don't usually buy coloured vinyl but on this occasion I ordered a limited edition and obviously expected to receive it. Had the owner apologised I would have just taken the black record as I love this album but the response I got from the owner was "What do you want me to do about it?" then he turned away. No apology..nothing. Absolutely no apology for the mix up in fact it was more like I was the problem. It is sad because I spend alot of money at this place and am always respectful to the staff. I left but after that response I came back for a refund. He basically implied that I care more about the colour of the vinyl than the music which solidified my choice to get a refund. As he was processing the refund he implied that I was costing him money because of a 'Fetish for coloured vinyl'. I was shocked. Funnily enough I see that the same record is available from their store online 'New Sealed' for the same price! I just expected to receive what I paid for and like I said had he just explained the mix up initially and apologised I would have been happy to keep the record. I did not expect to get insulted. I am soooo disappointed and will not be buying my much loved vinyl from here again. A real shame.
