Not a hundred percent sure what was going on tonight but when they make a soda and lime drink bad, we should of left then. Pregnant member of the party served cold seasonal veg and raw salmon. Chips tasted like they have been cooked in 5 year old oil and one of the meals came out half an hour after everyone had finished. Probably best to avoid and go to the bake house across the road. I haven’t been there but it looks good from through the grubby window. A real South Island experience best to avoid.

Yummy food and friendly staff!
Very nice and calm. Very clean n beautiful place to stay. Really enjoyed .thanks
We should have known better than to go in after we saw 3 boofheads pissing against the pub wall. Anyhow, not knowing what was available in fairlie for food, we went in. One word springs to mind ....yuk! Decor is old and dated and dirty. We ordered a drink and went out to an even yukkier outside area. I have never seen so many full ashtrays and even fuller with butts, the 'fireplace'. Steer clear! (We managed to find a beautiful, clean place for a meal)
Had the all day breakfast and a handle of Speights Old dark.
Disappointed with the food, had a gluten free chicken burger, the bun was stale, it said it would be with avacado which it was not, 1 slice of tomato and a tiny bit of lettuce with no sauce so a very stale unappetizing meal. Chips were great, but meal took over an hour to come out.
Ok pub if you are a local, took over an hour to receive meal. Meal average when arrived. Locals seemed to be looked after way better than us out of towners.
Very warm inside with log burner.Need a better sign outside for visitors not knowing it's a pub.
