While entertaining, although this wears a bit thin after a while, the food is definitely nothing to write home about. Our orders ranged from the lowest priced to the most expensive, however the food was extremely overpriced for what you got. In fact, the three of us were left hungry at the end of the meal and also had upset tummies the next morning. We believe this was due to the huge amount of butter used in cooking. While fun for a large young crowd, would only go once.

Stunning! What an amazing restaurant, we had so much fun. The chef was talented and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and want to go back already.

Chanced upon this place when we are en route from Queenstown to Wanaka during our holidays in Nov 2019. Loved the dishes and the "entertainment" by the chef. Ambience is wonderful and the prices are reasonable.

Food was amazing, chief was great to watch, we were welcomed as we walked in the door, beautiful fish on the wall looks great. I loved being here. I would highly recommend eating there.

Took my partner Sarah there for her birthday holiday dinner. Food was fantastic and plentiful. Although the set menus are on first glance are little pricey, you will be full and happily satisfied. Very good playful chief (Hernanes) made these meal a very memorable experience. We will return next time we're in town.

The Tonkotsu ramen was tasty. The pork was a bit tough and the egg was a fully cooked boiled egg unlike other ramen joints I've eaten at that have tender pork belly slices and perfectly boiled ramen eggs with the yolk 1/2 to 3/4 cooked. My husband had the spicy ramen which he thought was very spicy but he enjoyed it. We ordered the assorted tempura, garlic prawns and edamame as entries. Those were very delicious and will be back for more! The kids had the chicken katsu curry which was a bit spicy to their tastebuds and the katsu was dry. We also had the udon katsu set and udon nigiri set and they were good. The katsu was dry though. Overall the meal was enjoyable. Will come back to try the teppenyaki as the cooks were very entertaining and the group infront of us seemed to enjoy the experience.

One of the worst Ramen in my life. We ordered a ramen and an udon, it said it was a Japanese Restaurant, but it is totally not Japanese Pork Ramen tasted like an instant noodle pack from super market, no matter the soup or noodles. The pork, I wouldn’t say it was cha-shu. Spicy fish udon, it was full of burnt smell. The fish, prawns and vegetables were over cooked. Hikari used to carry a good name of their food in Queenstown. But this one in Frankton was totally disappointed.
