National/International Honey Distribution | Education Center | Cafe | Bee Experiences | Honey Extraction Buzzstop is a fun and educational one-stop shop where people can immerse themselves in the fascinating life of bees and enjoy the taste of a selection of Queenstown and New Zealand's finest honey. Visitors to one of Queenstown's newest attractions will be able to taste and purchase a selection of honey produced from a bewildering variety of flowers including New Zealand's world-famous Manuka blossom. The daily tastings, hosted by fifth generation beekeeper Nick Cameron, also provide an opportunity to learn how the magical blend of bees, land, flowers and beekeepers combine to make these delicious nectars. Nick, whose grandfather purchased his Queen bees from New Zealand's most famous beekeeper Sir Edmund Hillary, will explain to visitors that, like fine wine, honey is influenced by so many factors that the variety of flavours, colours and textures is almost limitless. These wonderful nectars can also be sampled in Buzzstop's cafe that has indoor and outdoor seating with spectacular views of the awe-inspiring Remarkables Mountains. Of course, there's a honey-themed menu including freshly cooked Belgian waffles drizzled in your favourite honey as well as barista made ROAR coffee and delicious Kapiti Ice-Cream. But there's far more to Buzzstop than just savouring nature's most delicious and healthy nectar. There are plenty of fun, hands-on activities for all ages including making your own beeswax candles, fragrant honey soap and environmentally friendly beeswax wraps. You can also spin and bottle your own honey to take home. And Buzzstop's educational with a giant see-through observation hive allowing people to get up close and personal with the secret lives of bees while visitors can find out how bees convert a flower's nectar into honey and how the Queen, worker and drone bees all have 'buzzy' roles in this magical process. Or they can experience what it's really like being a beekeeper by climbing into a bee suit and learning how they can help bees thrive in their own backyards. Buzzstop has an intriguing retail area featuring a wide range of New Zealand manuka and locally produced honey and honey-related products including skincare, beeswax candles, sweet treats, beekeeping equipment and giftware. Buzzstop is a New Zealand-owned and operated business located just two minutes from Queenstown Airport at 26 Hansen Rd off State Highway 6. It is open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week with honey tastings from 12.30pm to 1pm daily. Private tours and functions by appointment.
