Love this shop such a good selection of cheeses all sorts of sauces everything is there that you would need for beautiful platters and lovely friendly staff

We had a nice quick stop here for the delicious Kapiti ice-cream, one of our favourite NZ varieties. You can also try samples and make purchases of perhaps 12-15 artisan cheeses on offer at the shop. We ended up buying the Smoked Manuka that we enjoyed over the next few days of our travels. We also purchased a package of nice rice crackers that went well with a variety of spreads and other foods we picked up later on during our trip. Talbot Forest Cheese ended up being a good stop for us. We'd be happy to stop by here again during future driving trips on South Island.

Went in yesterday as we had had rave reviews about this place from my aunt and were keen to get some decent cheese as a nice culmination of our road trip. Right from the start the surly older woman behind the counter made us feel very unwelcome and couldn't get us out of there fast enough. She really needs to find another profession if she begrudges engaging with the only two customers in the store. We bought some peppered harvati in the end as the cheese itself was delicious, but the service received really put a damper on the whole thing and we left feeling pretty disheartened.
Lured by the friendly offerings of free cheese tasting, we entered this shop and were pleased to see they had Kapiti ice cream which was delicious! One staff member was friendly and helpful, however the other staff member seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face and when we asked for an extra spoon to share our ice cream we were told coldly "we normally only do one spoon per cup". Ruined our experience of this otherwise awesome store, what a shame :(
Great little shop, gourmet cheese, super friendly staff, great ice cream. Best place to stop over on the way south.
A must for everyone that has a passion, or addiction, to cheese!!! They have a great selection and its all delicious. I love trying new things and this place never disappoints. I cant pick a favourite but I like the Butter Kase, the massadam, the French brie, the cumin gouda, the gruyere, the goat feta, the farmhouse cheddar.......basically everything! I havent tried the icecream but it looks yummy. I can testify that the fudge is DIVINE. If your on a diet, eat your lettuce and carrots. If not, this is cheese heaven! Enjoy!
