We dropped in just to have a look around and were surprised to find buildings with a cafe there! The feijoa and date slice was simply to die for! I kid you not it would be worth going back just for that slice!!! Also do be prepared for a bit of a wait if there are a few people already queued up as their system isn't the most efficient (on the other hand it is the most endearing system in the world being run by volunteers ). Lovely little playground for kids and lots of fantastic walks too. Well worth the effort to find the place.

Great place to come with kids of all ages. Walking paths are well maintained and clearly signposted so finding your way around is easy. We have kids 7, 5, 3 and 1 so just did one of the short walks (red track) which was easy enough for a 3yo to walk. We also did some other short tracks near the visitors centre. Some tracks are rough in places so recommend child wearing rather than a pram, but some tracks are flat enough for strollers. The playground is also great, there are two excellent slides and some big swings which all our kids loved. I thought there would be more variety based on the website but what there was was good and the kids spent quite some time there. There are also flat grass areas that are great for a picnic. All in all a great day out and very good value at 28 for a family.

Beautiful parkland. Recommend that you take a picnic lunch. Walk among a large collection of trees then stop for the picnic, to soak.it all in. Good kids playground, visitor shop and Cafe. Check out the granite boulder suspended on a water column. Must do visit when autumn colours are blazing. One of the best things to do around Gisborne, especially if you are a keen gardener or just love walking among trees. Also wonderful in the springtime.

Great park with a lot of different hikes. You can easily spend the whole day in the park. I recommend the yellow walk, there is also a longer walk of it.

Beautiful place to stay. We were treated to comfy rooms and fantastic meals. Marion made us feel so welcome . The meals left ready to heat were delicious. Even nibbles and and dessert. Thanks so much for your hospitality. Loved the walk through the property.

Great day at eastwood hill. Lovely fall colors. We were there for the teddy bear picnic which was very well organized. Parking was easy and then there were lots of activities for the kids. Lots of fun and I would recommend it. Like if helpful!

Beautiful big park, with nice hiking opportunities. The entry fee is a bit high though.

What a special place! Masses of walks for all abilities through the well-maintained, gorgeous grounds of native and exotic trees. The staff were great, looking after my sister who is awaiting hip surgery, providing her with a mobility scooter so she didn't miss out. There is a lovely gift shop, ample clean toilets, an information centre and picnic tables.
