Took our 2 sons in to find a new kitten. What fantastic people. So patient while the boys played with a couple of kittens trying to see who was the best fit. We came home with an awesome little fella and he has made himself quite at home and the boys love him. Thanks so much, 2 very happy boys, well 3 if you count the kitten. \u200d

Hi, I applied online to adopt, a 2 month old kitten called Fergus, who had a slight eye sight problem of being crossed eyed. I inquired about this kitten and was emailed some information and a form to fill in. The staff member emailed me back and stated if I would be willing to adopt another kitten called Titan who was slightly younger than Fergus. I thought about it and asked if I could pay the 200 dollars for Fergus and then pay for Titan at a later date. I filled the form in and when the staff member saw my address, she stated that they had taken cats from this address and that animal welfare came first. I told her that I lived in the front unit and that incident happened at the back of me. She still stated that animal welfare came first and that I would not be able to let Fergus outside. I had my old girl for 13 years and she never got attack when she ventured outside. These people made the assumption that I lived where they up lifted the cats from not even taking what I had said into consideration. I was so upset about how they treated me as a cat lover. I am so disappointed and didnt really know what to say or do. I thought I was helping by trying to adopt a kitten as well as taking another one so that they wouldn't be parted. Sad cat lover.......

I would not recommend this SPCA guys. I tried to adopt a 4 month old kitten. Went through the process that they have on their website where you enquire about an animal, someone will get in touch and once someone did, they ask you to fill a form out. I filled my form out, and waited patiently to hear back from them. I live in Hamilton and would've loved to travel to get my new baby but I waited 2 weeks until I had to call them to be told my application had been deleted. The lady I spoke over the phone looked over my application and said they don't usually allow people to adopt pets who are renting. I also had asked if the kitten I was interested in was still available, and they said she had already been adopted. I was very mad and heart broken. Such lack of communication. Here, they assumed I couldn't look after an animal in a place where my landlord has allowed us to have pets in the property as long as we clean up after them. On the SPCA's application form it states what our living situation is and if we're renting then provide the landlord's contact details, I did so. Even so, while on the phone with them, the lady said she would get back to me after talking to her manager but it has been another couple of weeks as well. Very disappointing guys, it's very upsetting how you guys just simply assume things when a lot of us are nice people.
