Margot, the owner, graciously hosted us outside of her normal hours and we had an absolutely wonderful time. As soon as we arrived, she was prepared for us with umbrellas, just in case. She then proceeded with the tour, showing us the different types of olive trees and allowing us to feel them. They were not however ripe for tasting much to our dismay although we are assured olives straight from the tree are not very tasty. We then proceeded to the hazelnut trees where our toddler was most delighted at finding the nuts on the ground. Margot allowed our daughter to pick some from the ground to bring back and crack once our tour concluded. After learning about and touring the hazelnut section, Margot brought us to visit with her pet sheep. A very pleasant surprise for all of us!! Not only did we get to pet them, but also feed them which was a treat for us all. Upon concluding our tour, Margot then brought us into her house and while explaining the process of creating her olive oils, served us warm bread and various samples of her olive oil. We also got to try some of the hazelnuts, some homemade hazelnut spread, and some homemade hazelnut pesto. If that hasn't made you hungry yet, you should know that it was incredibly, delightfully delicious. Ever prepared, Margot even had a basket of toys ready to entertain our little one while we adults got to the tasting. The entire experience was completely delightful and we absolutely recommend this to any travelers who are considering a visit.
