A very tidy cemetery with lots of lovely trees. It is next to the famous Hamilton Gardens on the Waikato River.

this cemetery is still lovely and quiet but very neglected. All the headstones need to be cleaned off properly after spending 2 hours up there trying to find a grave and not one person around to ask for help was pretty poor. There used to be a map in the area where you could go and look up certain areas now all gone . even the toilet block is no longer there. its too far to expect people to go down to the Hamilton gardens to use them..The worse thing is all the rabbit burrows around the graves making it quite dangerous to walk round them . They have made a start to do work on the returned soldiers section which is good but it would be nice if they could do work on all other graves like we saw overseas where volunteers cleaned all headstones and weeded round them instead of letting them get so neglected It does need looking at as its part of our heritage and needs to be preserved .

Beautiful place. I agree some headstones need some maintenance, but it's also a nice Quiet place to be. I would've done some cleaning myself but chose not to as I did not want to disturb the graves.

A pleasant location situated by the Hamilton Gardens, this historic cemetery has many graves in need of repair or maintenance. The toilet block was out of action when I was there in early 2018, but there are facilities in the Gardens.
