I would like to highly recommend Cameron and Ruth to anyone who is looking for a music teacher for your children. Cameron is absolutely passionate about music. His love for the art is evident in his enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. Both Cameron and Ruth are very kind and patient with all students, encourages them and coaxes the very best effort from each and every one. My daughter first had piano lessons from Ruth and then from Cameron since Ruth went on maternity leave. My daughter really enjoyed taking piano lessons from both of them. I have noticed a great development of my daughter’s piano skills and knowledge last couple of years and now she is showing a great interest to continue learning piano.
Cameron is a very organized and thoughtful teacher who uses varies methods to help the student gain the most knowledge. I had piano and theory lessons with Cameron last year. Though out the year, with his carful plans and detailed explanation, I was able to achieve Grade 5 Theory and Grade 8 practical exams. His notes after each lesson were so helpful, and he also provided me so much relevant resources on the pieces and theory concepts to reinforces my understanding. I believe you would love your music journey with Cameron, who is both passionate and knowledgeable.
I started learning the piano in my late teens and sought a teacher that could provide me with skills, as well as the competence (and confidence!) to further my own learning. Cameron is a fantastic teacher and you would be hard pressed to find someone as personable and knowledgeable.
I started with Cameron this year after 50 years without touching a piano. He was encouraging, critical in a positive, helpful way, and opened up nuances in music that I had never appreciated before. So much so, that I'm tempted to drive from Auckland's North Shore to Hamilton to continue lessons with him. Thank you Cameron, for a year of great progress and immense enjoyment.
Cameron and Ruth taught my children music theory in small group classes and individually over a number of years. Both children achieved well in ABRSM exams. I highly recommend Sounds Good! My children found the lessons engaging, with a good variety of teaching methods, and kind and patient instruction.
Cam has been an inspirational piano teacher for my 7 year old daughter. He is an encouraging, focussed and patient teacher and his wealth of knowledge and experience has provided a love and understanding of musical technique and musicianship. I would highly recommend Cam!
