Great walk through a redwood forest along the amazingly clear and sparkling river. Costs a bit to get in, but very reasonable and definitely worth it, entry through the golf clubhouse. Some very nice picnic spots along the way if you wanted to take one with you.

Love Hamurana. I have known Hamurana since I was born...it is my home...so call be biased if you will. Its just a lovely quiet place...very beautiful, very well looked after. This is not the sort of place you dash into to tick it off. Hamurana is a place you take your time and stroll...slowly...and enjoy the quiet and solitude and nature.

What a wonderful place to take the family! A stunning walk. Huge redwoods and a lot of native flora. Cheerfully met by the loveliest person at the gate who later provided the young ones bean bags to use while eating our picnic lunch. Lunch was enjoyed beside the water where ducks, geese and swans swam.

Very disappointing. First time there since 2014. I am a tour guide and used to take tour groups there up until 2014. It used to be a fabulous and well kept Reserve/park. Not any more tho. Some areas like the Redwoods and the pool were good, as you will see from the photos. But in other areas, the standard has dropped markedly. Paths not kept clear/clean, scrub covers areas that used to be well maintained and had plants in them. Also, part of the track was closed due to "work"". PLUS the fee to enter is 18. Certainly not worth it given other things you can do in Rotorua for 18. The person at the kiosk was clinical. He DEMANDED to see my friends Gold Card although I'd presented mine, and my friend was in her 70's. He was unapologetic; just saying those are the rules. Not customer friendly. The standard has gone down hugely. Would I revisit it, or recommend it?? On the current experience - NO - ESPECIALLY at 18. If price was between 5-10, yes. This place has so much potential. The waters are crystal clear. The Redwoods are great. The shimmering sands and water pool are excellent. BUT, the signs need cleaning so they can be read. . And so on! A real shame. It used to be a true "pristine and a real out of the way gem". Please bring it back to the standard it used to be before they started charging.

Amazing. Hands down the most peaceful place you will find. The staff member at the gate is also super helpful, friendly and approachable. I think his name is Rani. I've been coming here once a year for 4 years now and every year the tracks are improving.

DO NOT GO!!!!!!!! The staff are terrible After It being free to go to this beautiful attraction it now costs 18 per adult. WHAT A RIP OFF. It is NOT worth this price.instead go to the ‘Blue Springs’ in Pataruru.

Peaceful and natural environment. During the Covid period it's 18 per adult. No dogs allowed unless it's a guide or companion dog with certification. The receptionist was brilliant with his service and hospitality on the Sunday we visited. Informed us with everything we needed to know and looked after us and other visitors professionally well! Cafe has license to sell Alcohol (beers) you can T up on the golf course and then go for a stroll in the awesomely preserved piece of history that is the Humarana Springs.
