Ordered the 2 fish of the day and chips for 12.50. The cod was wonderful. Chips aren't bad either. Good value for a quick dinner before going home after the pools. Had the pan fried pork dumplings with Worcestershire sauce as well, yum! Compostable packaging used except the recyclable sauce container. Gluten free options available. This is the best one we have been compared to the other five we have tried in Hanmer Springs before.

Blue cod was delicious. The chips were very crispy as you may be able to see in the photo. Still tasty and a well priced lunch.
Great fish and chips and real berry ice cream! We ordered battered blue cod and chips - fish was fresh and the batter was thin, light and crisp (one of the best we've hard :)) chips were great too, light and my greasy. The real berry ice cream is made on demand with frozen yogurt and berries.
They cook all the "gluten free" food in the same fryer as all the other food. Don't eat here if you have Coeliac disease unless you want to get sick, as they clearly don't understand cross contamination
Ordered two single cone icecreams, different flavors. Assistant plonked two flavors in one cone and when I asked him to give me another cone was told " we don't do that. Would have appreciated this before money had changed hands. Rubbish customer service. Won't be back.
Good fish and chips and decent portion. Prices are average. Located not far from the Hot pools. Good service and food overall.
Without a doubt the worst fish and chips I have had in my 45 years as an NZ native. Ordered chips for the kids and kumara chips for adults, and they just thrown them in together.. sigh. Absolutely everything was over-cooked and tasteless, clearly out of a freezer, not fresh fish. most ended up in the bin. Should have ordered from the place beside it.
Best takeaways shop in Hamner, Great B&E burger excellent batterd bluecod. Will be seeing you again soon.
