Our mission is to support and nurture our students’ capability by delivering foundation knowledge through to advanced learning that will enable them to adapt to rapid change that is now a natural characteristic of 21st Century lifestyles. By “Leading the Change”, embracing the very nature of change, with mindfulness to accept change as the essence of generative energy and potential, this aids us in realising our shared vision with our students for the future. We assist in identifying the endless opportunities that change presents, enabling us to extend ourselves, meet and grow from the many challenges and lessons learnt along the way. FutureCOL’s journey brings together the spirit of a multicultural base of individuals, reflecting the 21st Century universal global future. FutureCOL’s wairua (spiritual essence) and whakapapa instils empowerment, fosters and supports the challenge of change, stimulates positive action from behaviour adaptation to develop FutureCOL has established course curriculums that cater for younger learners under YG fully funded programmes through SAC fee paying NZ government subsidised programmes for other learners. FutureCOL teaches commercial workplace skills and knowledge which is supported by workplace experience or part-time employment to help build student industry links while studying. With a focus on a broad range of industry employment options in both Hospitality and ICT Computing, FutureCOL course accommodate a range of starting points appropriate to the student. We believe it is important to stimulate learning with challenges, through practical activities, discussion and blended learning options that often reverse a previous negative learning experience. FutureCOL supports the extension of student literacy, numeracy and language at all course levels to increase potential career pathway options. FutureCOL industry networks and advisory boards ensure curriculum keeps up with industry trends and demands.
