Havelock Mussel Feast. OMG. What an amazing day. Food, wine's beers and music with lots to do and see. Not missing it next year either. Recommend.

Another treasure of the South Island, so beautiful and tranquil

Nice spot for a walk, you can’t walk down on the actual piers as they are locked which is understandable. Few picnic tables to sit and have your fish and chips at

Beautiful weather, great atmosphere and lots of smiles...classic kiwi food festival

The Jewel in Havelock's Crown: If you are new to the area, you may not expect to find a big, beautiful marina in the middle of a tiny, rural township. So HM stands out like a proud diamond, in all its picture-perfect glory rightly deserving the homage that surprised visitors may offer when they stumble upon this find. The route to Havelock passes inland through deceptively rural landscapes (once you've left Queen Charlotte Drive) with no hint of the Sounds until you spot the marina. However a search on Google maps will reveal just how close you really are to the coastline. The marina is a wonderful resource for the locals and is instrumental in boosting tourism. Fun things to try around the Sounds include charter cruises (scenic, mussel, mail), water taxis and recreational activities such as fishing, diving and jet-skiing, to name a few.
