A stunning hut with awesome views. Also worth heading up to the saddle NW of the hut for view to Mt Ruapehu. Small peak north of the hut gives great views also. It's a two hour walk up to the hut. Take a small detour to see triple-x hut at the bottom.

Gorgeous hut, stunning views and plenty of bunks to spare, what's not to love?
Great spot when the NW gale not blowing and cloud down obstructing the view like it was this morning. Track up in good condition and we'll graded. But clean and tidy.

Definitely recommend you stay for the sunrise as it is stunning! Also the saddle walk is beautiful.

Beautiful place. You dnt get a proper view until your actually at the hut. Well worth the hike tho. Great hut
