Nice easy walk to do with the kids ( have an 18 month old) also dogs I guess as other people had their dogs in tow. Track is mowed and is wide it's pretty flat with lots of picnic tables and benches to enjoy the view of the lake, so well done the parks team at Whangārei council this looks well looked after. There are toilets and heaps of parking. Swimming is also an option and there's a little skate park at the start where you drive in , so something for everyone.

Warp is great for swimming and picnics. A lap around the lake is awesome too. Our wee dog loves a trip to the lake, it’s always busy - but not too busy
Place for whanau and friends, bbq and watch the rest swimming all day.

Fantastic open space. Clean warm fresh lake (old quarry) to swim in. Easy access into lake from pontoon. There are also picnic tables, toilets, a circular walk around the lake, ample parking and a skate park. 4square in nearby hikurangi. Love this place. Take care if you enter the water from the rocks at the shore - they are very slimy and slippery. Just off SH1 northbound end of hikurangi. Stop on your way past to cool off! Wild Camping ok.
Lovely Picnic Spot beside the Lake
Beautiful. I haven't been here since I was a child and they have really cleaned it up. Great views and plenty of picnic spots.
Absolutely fantastic and Magical if outdoor quality of life, away from the hustle and bustle of cityscapes, a place to stroll, swim, bomb, with a primo supremo community feel of whanau. A great place to take the mokopuna, go on a date with your queen, your princess,wahine, to enjoy, even perhaps hear some waiata without road cones. Listen to the bird song. Cheers ears (I'm coming back again)
