Contact FM is an independent radio station based at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. We specialise in independent music and love to promote music from the Waikato region and New Zealand. The first iteration of Contact FM was between 1979 and 1998. In 1998, the station, then owned by the Waikato Students'​ Union, was sold. It was reformed in 2003 as a subsidiary of the Independent Broadcasting Community (Hamilton) Incorporated (the IBC). Since then, the station has been run by the IBC's Management Committee, who have seen both ups and downs throughout the last decade. Contact FM is always looking for new volunteer DJs, programmers and other people to get involved with the station. It is always a good idea to start by having a listen to the station to make sure that what you want to contribute fits with what Contact FM is.
