Not up to the standard of other Esquires in Christchurch. If you're going to charge the eye watering prices then you need to have the service to back it up. Waited over 30 minutes for a 7 bowl of fries and the place isn't even full. I'd hate to see them cope when it's busy! No serviettes. No teaspoon with tea. Quite basic really. Come on, sort it out. It's not rocket science!

The 2 star rating is for the tea I ordered. It's pretty straight forward bringing you a pot of tea that you practically brew at your table so all good. The gripe I have is receiving a cup with red paint in it and a gritty saucer. 1st world problem right but what gets me is asking for a clean plate, only to be told it's just the paint from the logo that's coming off, it'll be alright, lol. I cleant my own cup before drinking the tea thank you very much. (Forgot to take a pic of the cup) Bummer..

The chocolate milkshake was good, but the chocolate cake I ordered wasn't. The cake was undercooked and had hair in it. There also wasn't much of a difference between my milkshake and my mum's chocolate frappe.

Tune down to a peaceful and calm environment for the perfect breakfast/brunch anyday of the week. Very welcoming staff and variety of food choices. Hot chocolate served with chicken brie cranberry panini just made my day! Would absolutely go back there for another breakfast.

Coffee was nice, 20c discount for bringing my own cup seemed small low. Thats about 3%.
