Beautiful, quaint, historic cottage with dedicated staff and delicious afternoon tea treats! Best selection of gluten free baking I've found in East Auckland - including scones! Brought my mum here for her birthday treat and she loved it. Also open till 4.30pm, unlike many other cafes. Wonderful.

Brilliantly serene setting, close to beach. Lovely food and quick service. All day breakfast and wide variety of yummy confectionery.
I love the cottage atmosphere and most of the food looks really good. However, I ordered the toasted bagel with cream cheese and salmon. It was very disappointing. The bagel was dried out and normally you would get served a green salad with it which normally really compliments the salmon. It was just a bagel with salmon on the plate with a tablespoon of cream cheese and 5 capers. This cost 17. I feel it really wasn't worth the money at all. It is overall very pricey although if the food is good I wouldn't complain about that price. The salt cellar was block. We opened the bottom and there seem to have been a toothpick stuck in there. Wouldn't your cheap salt grinders and pepper grinder be better? I don't think I will go back again as I'm sure if I had to ask for a bit of salad leaves to accompany my dry bagel it would've cost me extra.
Great cafe. Fantastic food. Did well during lockdown setting up their procedures. Been coming here for at least 2 years on most weekends. A few weeks ago it was super busy and there was a long wait. It's the only time we have been when the coffee and cake took a while to get.
Always consistently good food here! Staff are friendly, food is well-presented and there are vegan & gluten-free options available. Relaxing courtyard area out back and if you sit out there, watch out for those cheeky hungry sparrows!!
Love coming here. Great food and service. Always enjoy the hotcakes. Shame they sell out so early of them some days. Great selection of cakes and treats.
Have breakfast here regularly with friends and have always been happy with the quality of food and service. Sometimes it can get very busy but the team always let you know if there is a delay. The gluten free selection is very good too. I know how hard it has been to provide good service through Covid and this is one place that has put procedures and policies in place and still smiled when serving. Dont stop doing what you are doing!
Thank you so much, Judy, for the beautiful, GF lemon cake, decorated with flowers from your garden and complete with your home-made lemon curd filling, for my mother, on her 90th Birthday (in pink ribbon, above) - it was delicious and loved by all 10 of us during our lunch out, just before Lock-down.
