Having stayed at the Koura lodge for the past two nights I'd like to share that this hotel is positioned nicely up on the hill and driving down to town isnt a worry, the rooms are also brilliant. everything's easy to access and the style is very simple yet livable. Upon discovering this hotel I was a little worried that I'd struggle to blend in amongst the golfers, however the staff have been very friendly and I get the feeling that it's not a big deal that I've not played yet, though I do feel welcomed in enough to embarrass myself and give it a good try. Thanks to Rob's kind words and golf tips on the fly. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate, the view is gorgeous and the on-site bar is fully equipped to provide for a variety of functions. This hotel is a perfect choice if you'd like your stay in Kaikoura to go off without a hitch. Accommodation
Lovely place. Well appointed, lovely room with amazing views. Plus unusually well maintained 9 hole golf course. Great golf course for beginners as it is pretty quiet.
Front desk staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Delighted to have met the owner on the 9 hole course who had come over to introduce himself - very nice guy. The room was clean, modern, and had a great view to the 9 hole course and the coastline. Pity had only booked one night as we were keen to stay longer! Top notch place and will definitely be back!
I loved Koura Bay! The manager was so obliging when I asked for my customary ICED COFFEE. Not usually requested but was delicious. I like the vibe there & the view is magnificent
Lovely rooms, several games of golf, panoramic views
Hubby and I need to break away and a moment catch our breath from what has been a pretty horrific year. From the moment we were greeted and taken to our room till the moment we left we felt really cared for. The room was perfect. Comfortable and tasteful. What makes it so incredible is the setting and the views. It is set in a pristine bubble of peace and tranquility. Having the mountains and sea view from every corner of the lodge and golf course was incredible. You couldn't help but to relax and reset. Whether you are a keen golfer or played years ago - this is the perfect escape. Will definitely put this on our annual destination list.
Very welcoming staff, Beautiful place to stay and watch the ocean, the sun rise, part of Kaikoura peninsula bay. Very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are fantastic, clean, tidy, good facility, posh bathroom, complimentary breakfast. This place has nice looking bar with a wide range of drinks although the bar timings are limited hours.
