If you are driving through the area, a 5 minute stop won't hurt you. I mean there are so many other water bodies in new Zealand but this has its own charm. You can hear the water roaring it way as it makes it way through the mountains around. I think this point the sound is at its peak. The viewing point is Aman made structure protruding off the raised mountain. They have parking area but be careful when driving in and then driving out as it is just off the main highway and can be tricky. Be safe. It will be a good 5 minute breather to your long drive.
