Stunning view. Definitely worth the drive from Christchurch

This is a car park in the middle of nowhere, next to the main road between Christchurch and Arthurs Pass. It's the first spot heading out of Christchurch where you can get a proper view of the Southern Alps. It's not a bad spot for stargazing, either. There are no facilities, but there are villages nearby, and it's only 20 minutes drive from the outskirts of Christchurch.
