For the money, it's a great place, and a Sauna to boot! Situated in a very scenic area also! Friendly staff, simple yet all that you'd need in a place that's so out of the way.

The lodge is a fantastic place in the middle of one of the most awesome places. Off the beaten track with hardly any people around but lots to see and do if you like the outdoors. The fishing is great, windsurfing and boating a treat, in the right conditions and always a stunning walk or two to round off the day. Take clothes for changeable conditions and a peg to keep your hat flying off in the wind and a great time will be had.

We had a wonderful stay in this lodge. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They looked after our every need. The food was divine. The view spectacular. We can't wait to come back.

My partner and I passed through Lake Coleridge during our thru-hike on the Te Araroa. We decided to treat ourselves, and celebrate a birthday, and wow, was that a good decision! The lodge was well kept, especially the garden, and gave us the perfect spot to relax and reset. The owners take special care to make you feel welcome and the catering option was just what we needed. Not your usual TA accommodation, but we found it well worth the cost and was a highlight of our time in Canterbury.

Walking the TA southbound we were spending 2 relaxing nights at this lodge and it was wonderfull. The hosts Jo and Kevin are very friendly and helpfull. They picked us up at harper village and droped us off in Methven. The food was really great! And we enjoyed the sauna and the relaxing garden. Everything for a reasonable price for this remote area. If there is something to improve it would be fresh fruits and real coffee for breakfast. For us the mattress wasn't as comfortable as expected.
