Very new hostel, it's clean and the design is so well thought out. Great kitchen and view of the lake. Not pricey either the staff/work-for-accom were super friendly

Fantastic location and great facilities at YHA Tekapo, with comfortable and well equipped communal areas for cooking & relaxing. The views over the lake and mountains are stunning. The turquoise waters take on reddish tones as the sun goes down. At night you can step outside and see the red planet of Mars, then watch the stars emerge one by one, until the milky way arches overhead. Ensuite dorms are fabulous. Easy to check in, settle in, & get access to lots of great activities in the area. Walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, hot pools, stargazing, & more. Worth staying at least a couple of days.
Very clean, modern interior, beautiful lake view in the public area-both ground and 1st floor-, friendly staff... nothing to complain about, wanted to stay longer if I had more time!!!
Fantastic YHA - staff is awesome to deal with, location is second to none and the new building is stunning. Love the views from the kitchen area. Always very clean and tidy. Great facilities. Highly recommended.
It's clean and tidy. They have beautiful view at dining places. All equipment are new and their stuff do amazing job for this YHA. Here even have media room for relaxing.
Clean and comfortable. Our room came with a TV and en-suite. The shower was hot and the water pressure was excellent - just the thing after a long day hike. Short drives to places like Aoraki National Park, and great view of Lake Tekapo to wake up to. Kitchen facilities were well stocked and clean. The on-site cafe provided tasty food and coffee. Note of caution if you are visiting outside of peak season be aware that the shops and bars close quite early. There is also a supermarket within easy walking distance for provisioning day-trips. Staff there were friendly and helpful.
Excellent facilities. Loved the showers after a big day out. Staff so helpful. Billy and Tom were amazing. And the view! Highly recommend.
