Great wee spot. They have fenced most of the area off so its only the centre space available. Look no complaints considering it's for free swimming was good kids enjoyed themselves.. one thing I can really comment on if you have a tent take large pegs we have 6ml pegs the ground is rocky.

Great place for dogs to swim. Water was lovely, cool and clear. Excellent spots on the riverbank with shade for picnics. Good camping facilities. Water quality well signposted and and listed on LAWA website. Will visit again.

They've fenced it all off so you can't park down by the river like when i was a kid, its good for freedom camping, but the toilets are pretty gross. there are signs saying high risk of toxic alge,

A very well maintained free campsite with excellent facilities and only about a 30 minute drive to Christchurch airport.

Free is the best part of this campground. There are toilets. Left spacious. Conveniently near highway.

Decent sized camping area, fairly popular with a lot of campers even in late March. There's strong cell signal from a tower about a km away, but data doesn't work, maybe it's only good for voice. Many of the campsites are up against a stock effluent dump site, which probably helps explain the signs telling you not to use the tap water for drinking or toothbrushing. The dump area is also very close to a freshwater stream, which doesn't seem great either.
