Almost 5 years ago we ordered a fence from Russell for our house in Hawke’s Bay. It went on for months of unanswered calls, excuses, emails. When we did get pieces of a fence it was all wrong and mostly damaged. The worst experience of a tradesperson we have come across. It took us taking matters into our own hands to get our money back. Russell is a liar & conman. Do not use this company. David at durafence saved our butts!
We chose this outfit to totally fence our new property including to supply and install electric gates. 20,000 was his quote. We paid the required 50% deposit but then found this owner-operator - Russell Pilgrim, to be totally unreliable. He constantly promised to turn up but seldom did so. When he did, little was done and he disappeared promising to return on a specific date but then didn't. His crew comprised one or two relations who had no experience in this work. I could fill a book with my notes of his total unreliability, excuses and lies we were told. Getting hold of him was impossible. He hid behind answering systems and messages. Leaving messages to call me were almost never answered. Our frustration levels were sky-high. We found that the gate motors he supplied, were never paid for and the supplier wanted to repossess them. It cost us more to keep them than Russell had allowed in his quote to supply AND install them! I had to complete the whole fence installation myself - its easy and rewarding work for anyone with some clues and practical ability - and we have a great product that now looks good, no thanks to this outfit.
Russell Pilgrim from Fencetastic trading as PVC building systems ltd took my mothers 50% deposit for an"invisible" fence in April 17. He has every excuse in the book as to why he hadn't made or delivered it for months! Takes your money easily with a smile but never returns a call or email. Do not trust this liar - he takes advantage of retired little old ladies. Fair go here we come!
We ordered a fence system. Paid 2/3 in advance. Took him about 6 months to deliver when 3-4 weeks was originally discussed. Fence turned up initially and it was completely wrong design. Sizes were incorrect. Product was not constructed with aluminium but steel inserts. The list goes on. I didnt pay the balance and have been waiting for the last 12 months for the rest of the problems to be addressed. The Auckland plastic fence company will not take Wellington orders and refer us to this company
Russell Pilgrim, Owner and sole operator of Fencetastic is a liar and cheat. He started a deck for us in April and in 6 months showed up 5 times to work. He used every excuse in the book from pets dying, family illness, sickness, flooding robbery, all a bit too much. In the end he stopped answering emails, texts, and calls. Worse he would string me along and send a cryptic text saying that he would turn up next week or call me later or some such nonsense. I have lost 16,000 because of him. I have lived in this country for 8 years and he is the first disreputable person I have come across, I am very disappointed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING HIM OR ANY COMPANY HE IS ASSOCIATED WITH AS HE IS WORSE THAN UNRELIABLE.
