Historic Petone Icon of Law & Order, the original Police Station, built at the beginnings of this historic Township; a Township which faces New Zealand's Capital City, Wellington, across the Wellington Harbour. The Police Station was relocated to Jackson Street (the main street) to sit right next to the present-day Police Station. It's intriguing walking through it, because of the ambience atmosphere of the interior. It's also snug and you wonder how the heck it all worked when the police had several offenders within the confines?

A classic bit of Petone.
