Always a great experience. The volunteers are knowledgeable and very kind. Lots of different engines to see so worth multiple visits! Credit card and eftpos available, some drinks, icecreams, and a few chippies/chocolate bars for sale, but recommend you take a picnic if you want anything more substantial. Don't wear your favourite white top
Fun rides for the kids - kids loved the stream train. 2-3 picnic tables available for a quick bite while you wait for your ride.
Great place for a family outing - enthusiasts welcomed as well. Friendly and helpful staff who are dedicated to railway preservation.
Fantastic place for the kids. We have a two year old train enthusiast who even asked the driver if he could drive the train. The history is fascinating. Never knew how dangerous the Hutt railway was. Staff are all volunteers and are all very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely bring a jacket as even in a slight breeze it can be cold. It is a bit pricey, but it certainly a good couple of hours of entertainment.
Interesting railway experience. Rather overwhelmed by boisterous children and some rude parents. Silver Stream volunteers polite, friendly and knowledgeable.
First ever stream train engine experience. Great family outing. Just a short ride, kids loved it. Pack lunch and enjoy picnic experience. Unlimited rides.
We had our sons birthday here and it was awesome. We hired a carriage. The staff were super helpful and the kids had a really cool day.
