Wharekahu Urupa (Maketu Cemetery) is the resting place of my ancestors including Danish seafarer Captain Philip Tapsell (Hans Homen Felk), his third wife Hine i turama and their off spring. Rest in peace

This cemetery has a lot of Maketu history contained in there. It is well kept. Lawns etc tidy. Steep road down to new burial places.

Ummm how do you rate a cemetery when you have been there? What a dum thing to have to rate. For me the experience was very sad having to bury my grandfather. Would not reccomend it for anyone else??
