Popped in for lunch with my partner on Good Friday ... our waitress was lovely and very hospitable. Can highly recommend the soft shell tacos (we had pulled pork) and the Matakana smokehouse salmon ... will definitely be back :)

Fantastic colonial style pub, great friendly service from the staff, tantalising menu, plenty of room, parking at front and rear.
Excellent staff, excellent food. Took my 97 year old Dad and his 92 years friend to drinks and lunch. We really enjoyed the surrounding, staff and service. Highly recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a classy drink or meal. Ian and Vinny

Had a really good experience at MVP after our group of 30 were rudely turned away from the Rusty Pelican next door because our group was more than 10. We offered to sit in groups of no more than 10 but that wasn't good enough. Told us to leave. Rudest operators ever! Well, we ended up next door at MVP. And what a blessing in disguise! The food was amazing! The fish and chips came with the best tasting chips we've had in a long while. The pork belly and pork ribs were good too. The staff were accommodating and friendly. We sat at 3 big tables, no issues whatsoever. We were happy to part with about 800 spend between us all. Thanks to the team at MVP!
Great range of meals... would deff recommend the oysters, so tasty. Beautiful outdoor drinking and eating area.. free admission every Saturday during summer to live bands.. quick and polite young staff who were extremely helpful.. great place to stop in after the local markets on Saturday.

Had a most delightful lunch today. The kids, four girls, thoroughly enjoyed their lunch. The waitress was awesome and looked after us. Food came quickly just what was needed for four excited children and enabled us to get to the movies on time.
