This is a popular affordable venue for wedding receptions and other events. Some hires stay overnight as well. Many years ago we used the hall for gymnastics classes during the day. There's some off street parking and the hall has restrooms and a reasonable kitchen. There are public tennis courts adjoining. The hall is also a civil defence evacuation point. A great community resource that should be maintained. Land for the hall was originally donated by the Mellsops I am told who had a house further up the road.
