Spent just over 2 months with the club flying a couple of times most days from West Melton for a PPL. Friendly club, great instruction, and operations 7 days per week with generally good booking availability. A flatland site with the clear weather of the Canterbury Plains, but once you progress to cross-country flying there's coastal and mountain scenery within easy reach (though it's often too windy to fly in the mountains). IAANZ also fly from West Melton during the week, so usually nice and busy in the clubhouse and out on the aerodrome, and the relationship between the two organisations can sometimes help by sharing aircraft while others are offline for maintenance. Not sure there are many other aero clubs in NZ that would have had the resources and flexibility to really provide an intensive training schedule like this.

This is also the home to The International Aviation Academy. Same building, same address. they are right at the end of Aviation Drive in the big yellow building. However you might also be looking for thier West Melton flying field which is on Weedons Ross Road, out at West Melton about 10 minutes drive
