Unforgettable experience. Definitely the highlight of our family trip to the South Island. All the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and witty. They made the 3hr long cruise most enjoyable, comfortable and meaningful to us. Also, it was great that underwater observatory and lunch were included. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience! Majestic Milford Sound! Even the scenic drive to Milford is epic! Can't find proper words to describe how amazing our experience was. The visitor's centre is clean and neat place. Friendly staff.

Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise experience. The picnic lunch was nice too. Commentary was very informative but shame a lot of the other passengers were talking through it. The staff on board were super friendly and answered all our many questions. Thanks for the experience!

I was blessed to be here the first fine sunny cloudless day after the rain. The captain (Adam) of our 2hr Southern Discoveries cruise said that the viewing of Piopiotahi doesn't get any better than what we had - fine sunny weather, very little wind and lots of water for the waterfalls. There's free help yourself tea & coffee onboard and there's a limited menu to choose from should you be hungry. If you fly in with Milford Air there are tables reserved for you to eat at. Our cruise started off by heading out to sea (because weather conditions made this possible) via one side of the sound to the ocean then back via the other. Along the way we experienced waterfalls by getting up close enough to be showered by one of them, we saw seals sunning themselves on a rock and went into a sheltered bay where the early sealers set up their camp. The captain pointed out to us earthquake fault lines, slips and how plants grow over them, where to find minerals, and gave us the pakeha history of the area.

The bus ride to and from Queenstown was worth every dollar and minute. Then the Cruise through Milford Sound was brilliant. 100% recommend. Do it when its raining! You will not be dissatisfied.

I had a great time with my family, because we went on the ferry and we saw the waterfall and the seal, what a great day with southern discovery.

Wonderful experience. Worth the 20 for the closer parking as it’s quite a walk from the free parking area. A fantastic crew with a very interesting commentary as the trip progresses. We stopped at the floating seaplatform for an undersea viewing of fish and coral. The highly knowledgable marine biologists really knew their stuff. The kids loved the various waterfalls snd the one where we went right underneath (and got soaked) was a particular highlite. Would definitely do this again. Highly recommended.
