Incredible hike! Parked at Raspberry Creek carpark and made the 18km trek to French Ridge Hut. Absolutely worth the effort. Last 3 km will take 3 hours. Sounds ridiculous but it's straight up, pulling yourself up rocks and roots for 3 hours straight. Very strenuous but worth it. Bunks were cozy and very nice common area. Visited in October and only needed light layers as the hut was quite warm, even without heat. Recommended for the fit and eager!

A brilliant hut to visit. Excellent view but a bit steep last climb. Totally worth it!
