Had an awesome tour with Joel. Although the weather was not the greatest (very rainy), we had a wonderful time and loved every moment of it! Joel was very knowledgeable and had access to filming locations other groups don't, and those spots have spectacular views. It's really awesome when he points out a filming location and that fantastic moment of 'oh yeah!' when you remember it (and if you don't, he has photos to help jog your memory, or show you if you've not seen the film). I highly recommend this tour - you don't need to be a fan of the movies to enjoy it, the locations are beautiful. Great fun, hope I can do it again in the next year or two!

Had an absolutely stellar time with Joel. Fantastic tour, deep knowledge, and very friendly. Great with kids, too. It was fantastic, getting to wander around on actual film locations, as well. Couldn’t be happier with the service.
Really fantastic tour, everything you could want from a film location/scenic tour of Queenstown to Glenorchy. Joel is truly passionate about what he does, his love for the filming community in this region and... of course... The Lord of the Rings shines bright like the light of Earendil. I hope more people get to go on this tour, or any others Joel and Kate have in store.
Great tour with pasionate knowledgeable super friendly guide. Props a nice addition for photos. Went were no other company has access. For 4.5 hours was well worth the money.
Great trip. Friendly guide. They can show you the real scene in the films and the view has not change these years. Happy picnic on the private farm where the films used. They are the only tour group can go to there. Good view during the trip. Thank you.
Joel really made this tour special - a genuinely knowledgeable, enthusiastic LOTR guide and kiwi. From the get go, he was a down to earth, funny guy who made us feel like we were a group of friends on a roadie. We got to stop at incredible set LOTR locations, including the exclusive access to Beorn’s house where we were able to take photos with high quality props. We even had a spontaneous drive around a live scene filming of One Lane Bridge!
Awesome tour and the drive is spectacular! I loved the stop at the red shed and the picnic. James was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about the area and lord of the rings and few in some information about other movies which was great.
This tour was the highlight of our time in Queenstown, which to be fair was already epic, so this is really saying something! Joel took our family (including two kids aged 11 and 8) to the most beautiful places. To call them film set locations is an understatement - this is paradise on earth. The glorious views of the mountains and lakes, coupled with Joel's extensive knowledge of the area and its history was, to say the least, truly impressive. Joel was extremely knowledgeable about the film set locations and has enabled exclusive access to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen - this is unique to this tour. My family of LOTR fans found it magical to see the real locations where these movies were filmed, and understand more about how they were filmed, connecting the reality of these incredible locations with the fantasy in the movies. My kids will never forget this day. My 11yo girl says "it was totally awesome! I loved seeing sting, but luckily there weren't any orc nearby", my 8yo boy says "it was epic! I loved being Frodo!". This is a small, family-owned business. Impacted hugely by covid-19, but Joel and Kate are absolute legends, bringing personal touches, along with professional knowledge and experience to their business. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to see these beautiful locations and understand more about the area in general, but especially LOTR fans. Many thanks to Joel and Kate - this meant so much to our little family.
