Had a great stay here! The location is perfect. So close to down town Mount Maunganui and a short walk to the beach. The staff at PCL are so accommodating! I dealt with three in particular, Rachel, Laure and Aline. Great work guys! Thank you! 6 stars!!

I mean, decent backpackers hotel - no complaints about the facilities or rooms, everything is standard, if not fancy. I'd give a (4-5)/5 for that coz it has everything i expect from a backpacker hostel - clean, great vibe, facilities etc. However, the problem for me was the location of the building, and possibly the location of the room in the building - which was the one closest to the road. So, it's basically situated on the roadside and this was almost Christmas and it was a weekend. So, there were a lot of loud drunk people returning from clubs late at night - and this woke me up atleast 4 times at night. Again, this isn't really the hostel's fault - but for me, if I was looking at staying at this hostel again, I'd probably choose a room away from the road.
I recently stayed at Pacific coast lodge when I was in the bay for OneLove and I could not of asked for a better experience. Alina on reception was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The lodge has a awesome vibe, is super clean and is an affordable way to stay in the Mount. Highly recommended and I can't wait to stay again next year.
We stayed for the week-end with my friend and enjoyed our time there. The staff is friendly and helpful. Upon checking in the front desk lady gave us a little tour of the facilities. The hostel is very clean and has big community areas. It is very close to the beach and to the bars. Will definetely come back again!
Such a nice hostel! We travelled as a couple and the private room was so nice - it even had a separate shared bathroom away from the communal ones which was a nice touch. Very clean, fresh looking and close to the beach. Friendly staff. Tick tick tick.
Atmosphere is amazing! Hostel puts on great events and really creates a community -everywhere you look there are poster boards with updated details of everything happening in and around the Mount. Great place to be! :)
Really gorgeous fresh clean place! Great location and lovely staff who will always greet you with a friendly smile and a fresh cup of tea! Highly recommend it. Enjoy your trip!
The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced staying at a backpackers. People get asked to put good reviews in exchanged for cutlery as well as pots and pants they took them away to punish people. If your looking for somewhere to call home go elsewhere. It would be such a great place is the staff were not not there. They will kick people out which they don’t like without an explanation (extremely unprofessional). Mount Backpackers is a much better place to stay.
