I have always loved Crab Farm, however last Friday night I went there and initially the service was OK, the meal was good, then no one came back to see us after that. We were a table of 2. First one of us ordered a beer, which was never given to us. We waited 30 minutes for someone to collect our plates &/or our waitress to bring the dessert menus, but no once came. Pretty sure our waitress was the maitre d, because she was doing paperwork inside at the end of the night. We ended up leaving & I got a choc brownie from the counter to take away (delicious). No one asked us how the meal or service was, otherwise I would have told someone. Very disappointing experience from a place I usually think of as a Go To.

Pretty good food at a decent price compared to other places. Nice outdoor seating so it's a good temperature in the summer. They also have indoor seating for if it is cold. Nice atmosphere and pretty professional staff but sometimes the service takes a while. Would definitely recommend to others and it's pretty family friendly too. (Would suggest booking to get a good spot.)

You must set your GPS for here. Been several times and today was the best ever. Have to recommend the Seafood Platter, we enjoyed it so much for our lunch. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did.

Amazing winery. We went for dinner, staff were lovely and they have LIVE music around 7pm on Friday

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Mahia today, we have tried in the past to eat here but with no luck as they are always busy. Well today was just perfect. Jan had the seafood platter which was packed to the hilt, and I had a great pork loin. We did the wine tastings which was fun, and then looked in the art shop, well worth a visit, the lady in the shop was great. The servtice in the restaurant was fantastic, as was the young lady serving us. She knew her stuff on th e local wines. Many thanks M & J.

We had a lovely meal on Sunday 7th February but unfortunately after being given the dessert menu we gave up waiting for someone to take our order after 30 minutes. I mentioned it at the counter but the person wasn't worried. No apology. Disappointing really.

Would love to rate this place higher, but unfortunately I just can't. Great venue for sure. Outdoor seating is definitely pleasant on a hot Hawkes Bay summer evening, however we noticed the outdoor seating had a lot of ants crawling all over the table. We brought this to the attention of one of the staff, and he brought a cloth and table spray to attempt to mend the issue. This was good, and they seemed to disappear for a while. We ordered the bread and dip platter as an entree, which was nice and had good variety however we did find a hair in one of the dips. Main course was very nice, we did however order two steamed greens dishes. Someone had keyed in the wrong dish into the register apparently, and they brought out two incorrect salads. This added an extra 15 minute wait time for the corrected salads to emerge. One of our meals was also delayed quite a while, and we were at least halfway through our other dishes when it came out. Dessert was very nice, no complaints on that one. Overall, the setting of this place is lovely, and the food was delicious. Just a couple of points that broke the experience for us on that occasion.
