This was a great experience! Taken to the best wineries in hawks bay by a man steeped in wine makers lore. Don went well above what we expected. I recommend this tour to all levels of wine lovers.

We booked a private wine tour with The Winemakers Private Wine Tour August 2020. We gave Don a brief of what we were interested in and he delivered. I myself have been on wind tours in the USA, Australia and here in NZ. This was by far the best tour we have ever been on. Don is a third generation wind maker and has a genuine passion for wine making. The knowledge he has is fantastic. We visited some of the off the beaten track winery’s that has some excellent wines to offer at very good prices. We finished the day with a glass of Don very our port on our way back to the hotel. I would highly recommend if you want a genuine experience give Don and his wife a call. We will be back in the new year and will be using Don services again.
This tour is above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Don is a wonderful guide, sharing not only his endless knowledge of wine and wine making, but also his knowledge of the region and its fascinating history and culture. His own life and family history are woven into the patchwork of vineyards planted throughout Hawke's bay. This is not a tour to just slam wines and move on to the next place. This is a tour of quality, to soak up knowledge and the beauty of the area. This is an exclusive, educational, beautiful and delicious tour. I wish I could go again tomorrow! Thank you, Don. A brilliant wine tour that included local history, amazing architecture and great wines. Don picked wineries that I wouldn't have gone to myself and his experience in wine making brought a new perspective to the tour. Highly recommended for anyone who values great wine, excellent local knowledge and a tour delivered by a person passionate about great wine.

We went on Don’s 3 hour tour. He’s a third generation wine maker with great knowledge and tales to tell. It was fantastic wine tasting with a wine maker - we learned so much. Don paid particular attention to each person's interests and gave great information about Napier and its history. He also gave us ideas of what to do in and around Napier. A visit to Don's farm in the hills with a fabulous view and the opportunity to meet Roslyn and sample her home grown and home made treats made the tour a very special memory of Napier.
We had a great day with Don doing a full day wine tour. The wineries he picked for us to visit were great and we had a blast he was so knowledgeable and we learned alot on the process of wine making. Thank Don for a day that was fantastic
