Ended up in Nelson hospital on New Years night due to reduced fetal movement...I was from out of town and wasn't sure if I'd be seen to due to not being from Nelson and with my midwife. However the team in the maternity ward were so incredibly lovely and willing to help. Nelson is extremely lucky to have such a helpful and kind maternity team who went above and beyond to ensure I was reassured that everything was ok, and made sure I got all the necessary checks. Thank you!!!

Went in just after level one declared. Still important to wash hands and sign in. Friendly staff. Cafe still closed but will reopen. Some spaces still left in car park at 9 30 am.

My husband was sent to A&E after our GP had done an ecg. They were amazing and admitted him for tests. He had the dye put through the next morning. He had two complete blockages and he was put into CC. He had nurses monitoring him constantly. They were waiting for a bed in Wellington and one became available on Labour day. He was flown over and prepared for Tuesday surgery. We were then flown back the following Sunday and re admitted to Nelson for overnight observation. The only negative in the whole experience was ward 4 in Nelson hospital. The nurses were awful, they must be sent to ward 4 when they have no bedside manner. I stood at the nurses station waiting to ask a question. There was five nurses standing around talking about how much weight one of them had lost. Not one acknowledged me, I walked away still not being helped. Out of all the amazing medical treatment ward 4 was the worst experience. If I ever needed treatment and they said you are going to ward 4 I would refuse and take my chances.

I spent almost 8 hours in A and E yesterday and had the most amazing care and treatment for shortness of breath. Thank you to the reception nurse Bonnie the care nurse doctors Sarah and Harry, the radiologist and the CT staff, Astral and Marilyn the St John volunteers and all the wonderful Staff . I am so lucky to live in Nelson!

I applied for a job here and submitted a cover letter as part of the application process. Towards the end of my interview, I mentioned something from my cover letter and the two women interviewing me were outraged (at me) for not knowing. I was then told they wouldn't have even given me the interview had they known (the reason for the outrage was - I couldn't work one weekend every month (but was fine to work the other three)), and I was told it was a waste of their time. I don't understand why they didn't just read the cover letter that they asked for as part of the application. I complained following the interview, and was basically told "I'm sorry you were upset" instead of them taking responsibility. Overall, very poor professionalism

The nursing staff and doctors are superstars.....truly exceptional people. Kind, understanding and pushed too the limit most days. Willing to manage unexpected circumstances with a smile and to help whenever they can even if its not in thier job description. These guys are rockstars
