Thank you Neil for taking us riding around the farm at short notice. We enjoyed seeing the cattle and then the sheep being moved. The view from the top of the farm was amazing. We loved the horses we rode Angel and Basil they suited us well and we look forward to a beach ride next time. Alice & Rob

What a great ride always wanted to do a beach ride and what a beautiful location. So worth it. So if you are heading to the Catlins this is a must do.

Had a really lovely ride with great, well cared for horses. Cara took really good care of my mum who was v nervous and put her on a lovely horse. Ignore the fool below with the one star review - New Zealands health system and non sueing culture is the reason we have awesome adventure activities in this country. We felt very well cared for - thank you :)

An amazing ride!! I would strongly recommend this ride for beginners to experiences riders!! Setting aside the beautiful country you are riding through, Cara was really welcoming and easy to get in contact with! I booked a private ride along the beach which was sooo beautiful and amazing prices!! Cara was also very well informed about the areas and answered all my questions. On the ride she was very happy to go at my pace and where I wanted to go on the ride as well as stop when ever I wanted to get photos of me! Would very happily come back and recommend to my friends and family!

No one will enjoy reading this.... But it needs to be said now.. The ride I had on 7th November 2018 changed my life forever... Sarge was my horse for the day... Two other German tourists on ride with the guide.. Guide specifically said to those riders to give my mount space as he was fiesty that day...I am very experienced rider... The two germans were not...they allowed their mounts to come up beside mine in the beach...they then goaded my mount to a faster pace than I could manage with the incorrect saddle and tack...my horse then tossed his head and proceeded to gallop. I had by this time tried to stay in saddle twice...lost stirrup and full reins. I was about to go over the head so I came off to the side. I landed 2m fall heavily on the beach shoreline. Then I was swamped by the incoming tide. I had to crawl out of surf ...I could not stand..yes I broke my back right there that day..airlifted to the Dunnedin Hospital..operated on 9th November 2018. 6 days in hospital and another 5 days in a hotel room on the beach at St. Clair...I lost 11 days if my trip...i get NO COMPENSATION from the New Zealand govt for my permanent injury. While this horse riding guided tour company gets away with not even a slap on the wrist...I therefore would never ever recommend this tour... The guide was apologetic but no further communication or care was shown to me after the accident...they did assist with my car rental return and luggage. But as for a monetary payment for my injury no nothing. No refund either!! No this tour was not guided at all... It was a free for all and a disgrace.

Ich war im Oktober mit Catlin ausreiten und es war traumhaft. Wir sind zuerst übers Farmland ihrer Familie geritten und danach den Strand entlang. Da ich alleine mit ihr unterwegs war, hat sie sich an mich angepasst und ich konnte entscheiden wie schnell ich reiten möchte. Auch die Kommunikation im Voraus war sehr gut und ich konnte flexibel nach Wetterlage entscheiden, ob es sich lohnt oder nicht. Vielen Dank! Absolut empfehlenswert.
