How great is New Plymouth for having this cute little Zoo for free. It is such a great place to take children. No, it doesn't have elephants and tigers but there is plenty with which to amuse and educate children. The walk-through aviary was very cool!

Gorgeous little Zoo, completely fenced and enclosed, so the perfect place for Parents with small children to let them run around in the centre picnic area. Lovely animals and free flight bird Aviary.

What a cool place ..Great place to take the kids ...even nice for my partner and I ...no kids to go and walk around...families could take a picnic and sit just opposite the zoo in the park really nice ...and best of all it's free...though they do have a donation box..and yes we left gold coins donation...one of the must go to and see...even if only to say you've been there

Was very impressed with the health of the animals and cleanliness.... not to mention the imaginative layout of facilities to keep the animals happy. There was also an ice-cream/food caravan .

Jan2021Surprised at this little gem. Busy with little ones and their adults, taking in some very interesting animals within very well kept environments. There's a place to picnic with shade, or pop out to the gardens.

What a great little zoo! Allows children to get close without disturbing the animals. Great enclosures, animals look like they are loved and well cared for by the staff. Excellent playground and a small caravan with coffee and ice cream for purchase. A nice place to spend a couple of hours with the kids...and it's free!!
