Had two bad experiences here. Would not recommend. First time, I was charged twice. Albert told me the battery may be flat, put a new one in, before deciding it was actually a problem with the mechanism. Yet he charged me for the battery (could not be returned to the case as it had been 'used' for two minutes). I went back a few months later because I was still experiencing problems with my watch. He had stated clearly that if I had any further problems with the mechanism I could return free of charge. However this time he pleaded with me for money, and then turned nasty. He also tried every trick in the book to get me to hand over money ("there's water damage/fastener has come loose/this band is broken"). He was unprofessional and this unpleasant experience left a bitter taste in the mouth

Final pricing MORE than quoted ,,, this is second time I have been cheated here. BUT never again. Customer beware . Last time watch was repaired , i was told then too the crown faulty, SO actually SAME PROBLEM TWICE AND CHARGED FOR TWICE. To this day I cannot wind the hands forward , AND the date numbers now stick and WILL NOT roll over properly to next day date. A very sloppy watch repairer , customer beware.

After reading the reviews I was confident I had found a great place to fix my timepiece. A loose screw and batteries cost me about 120. Seemed fair at the time. Four months later, the same screw came loose and the batteries were dead. I couldn't believe it. I took my watch to a reputable clock and watch maker in Milford. The repair and batteries cost 30. That's a big difference in my book. Others may have found Alberts excellent but in my case, I found it disturbing.

It is clearly one man running a small shop, so it's possible that he is not always around even though opening hours suggest that the shop should be open. I tried my luck a couple of times, but when I did find him eventually he was a really nice guy that seemed to know what he was doing and repaired my watch almost immediately. Maybe call ahead if you're coming from far away.
