Northern Football Federation is one of seven Federations of New Zealand Football and governs football in the Far North, Northland, Kaipara, Rodney, North Harbour and Waitakere regions. We are a non-profit making organisation with responsibility for managing and developing football throughout all of these regions. We have circa 15,000 members who compete in our Winter sports Competitions with steady annual growth of 3 – 3.5%. In 2017 we experienced excellent growth in the youth grades (13-17yrs) for boys and girls of 14% and a 16% increase in the overall number of female participants. We have increased our support beyond traditional winter football clubs into other community groups and have established two hubs for disability football in the Upper Harbour and Waitakere areas in partnership with Special Olympics NZ. Furthermore we have recently engaged a Community Development Officer: Ethnic Engagement to better support the changing demographics of our regional as well as our existing support for regionally based Ethkick football tournaments.
