Absolutely loved. Went with a school group. Amazing people full of knowledge. Native birds were great to watch. Found geckos and learnt about spiders and other native species. Got to feed the eels. The walk through the bush was just beautiful. Well worth a trip if visiting Dunedin.

Spent substantially more time here than we’d planned and loved every second of it. The grounds are a veritable cornucopia of pulchritudinous flora and fauna, and the staff are warm and very helpful. Great place for anyone of any age to experience some of Aotearoas finest

Incredible, there are so many birds in this eco sanctuary just wandering about, great place to kill a day wandering about looking at all the different birds

Awesome native environment. Enjoyed looking for the geckos and skinks. Excellent to visit a sanctuary that caters for all ages and wheelchair access. Birdsong and nature, what more could you want to relax. Friendly staff. Definite must do when in the city.

absolutely loved this place! in the short time we had here we got to see takahē for the first time as well as kaka, cute geckos sunbathing and a number of super playful tui all in their natural state and on their own terms which is always the most special feeling. glad we decided to check it out last minute and will definitely be back and allocate more time to spend here exploring all the different areas and walking tracks
