We stayed a week here and it was superb.Nice big clean cabin with a small fridge .Lovely hot showers and clean kitchen. Peaceful .Surat bay was breathtaking- saw sea lions on the beach, and crystal clear water for swimming. Hats off to the Hosts they were lovely to my son and kept him entertained and had suggestions on sights to include him.Would love to come back one day.

This is quite possibly my new favorite spot in New Zealand, I want to go back there now! The owners were absolutely lovely, the park was peaceful and relaxing, the facilities were great. We will most definitely be becoming regulars here

A wee gem, well equipped units and the best camping ground we stayed at on our trip. Clean and friendly helpful owners who offered valuable advice on exploring the Catlins. Perfect access to the 3km beach. Definitely recommend, free wifi and because they rely on rain water happy to keep the showers short. Thanks, will definitely recommend to others.

Just needs more showers and toilets which the owners are fighting to get. Great camp loved our stay

Beaut camping ground right beside the beach. Great kitchen, dining area and lounge. Affordable camping here. We saw 4 Sea Lions on the beach, which was deserted.

A jewel tucked away from mass tourism. Such a tranquil campground right next to the beach. The owner is a lovely lady from Canada even taking the time to show us our place for the night. All the kids gathered around an outdoor chess game, followed by playing tag and hide and seek. The beach is absolutely beautiful and I spotted some sea lions when I walked up the beach to get better reception.

Run by a lovely Canadian and her husband, this is a gem of a place. Beautiful views, direct access to the breathtaking beach, and great amenities that are clean and tidy. The place runs on rain water so be mindful of your water usage, but that isn’t a bother. You still have a full kitchen, shower (2 / 5 min), and laundry access. Best of all, you have a chance to see both Fur Seals and Sea Lions (more rare) on the nearby beach. I highly recommend this as a 2-3 day stop to explore the surrounding areas. Tip: book camp site #1 for its spectacular view and highest level of privacy.
