We went on a trip last week. We cannot rate it highly enough. What a fantastic day out with my husband and son. The local knowledge was great, the scenery amazing. The host top notch. Anchored up in a stunning bay, swam ashore. Boat immaculate. Look forward to returning with our other son, absolute bliss.

An awesome experience! The Captain had great stories of his sailing and travel adventures and knew all the boats nearby and shared the tea on them. We saw dolphins up close, snorkeled, and enjoyed tasty snacks while taking in the scenery. The boat wasnt too crowded and it was a great day on the water. Crew was super friendly and let us help with putting up and stowing away the sail. Highly recommend this sailing tour if you are in Paihia with a good weather day.
We had an awesome day out with Mike and Robert and can’t recommend it enough! Great value - we were well fed, entertained and well looked after by skilled crew. A must do day trip for anyone visiting Paihia - you won’t be disappointed!
We had a fantastic time out. Mike and Robert were amazing. We made a stop at a beautiful island where we were able to snorkel. Throughout the day they provided refreshing snacks and lunch was perfect. Would love to go again.
Best way to spend a day in the Bay of Islands! Gungha II is a sweet as sail boat and Captain Mike showed us an awesome day. We were staying in Russel and Mike coordinated an easy ferry transfer for us to meet him in Paihia. After leaving on time (points for promptness) we sailed for about two hours and then had a nice stopover where we could snorkel and/or explore the island. Back on the boat and after a hot shower, Mike served a delicious sandwich lunch (can cater to vegetarians and vegans) and then we started our return home. Great weather made for smooth sailing and Mike was happy to let anyone interested help with the boat. Really enjoyed Mike’s commentary, learning about the area and his fascinating life, and cannot recommend a day out on the water on Gungha II enough. Thanks for a memorable day Mike!

Fantastic sailing trip with captain Mike. Super relaxed, great service. Variety of snacks and lunch was provided. Made a lunch stop at a pitoresque bay with white sand and crystal clear water. Would def do the trip again!
A Perfect Bay of Islands Experience I found out about the Gungha II through a GrabOne Promotion. My husband and I went out on the sail boat with over a dozen other tourists. Mike is the Captain and he is very friendly, helpful and organised which provided us with a truly spectactular day on the water. Some people wanted to sun tan, others wanted to help sail and others just take in the views. Mike is a fantastic story teller and has had some very unique experiences which he shared with our group. The food was very healthy and fresh which is just was needed. We swam and snorkeled and went on a “predator free” island walk. Dave and I will never forget this day and will book again when we visit the Bay of Islands. Thank you Mike.
